Craft: I used the the adobe illustrator program, pen tool, brush tool, text tool, and shapes tool

For the first image i choose to do the logo by itself, as it is a trademark and the logo is associated with the company and drink itself.

I first took the shape tool and layed out a star that i liked and i made a duplicate but a tiny bit smaller to give it the outlined look. The R's I actually drew out by freehand very carefully because i could not find text that would give the logo the character it actually has.

Composition: The composition of the first image is the logo i drew from the can, and the second image was the actual rockstar drink, the main outline of the bottle was done with the pen tool. From there i took the brush tool and added shading. The last image was a memory drawing of my fourwheeler.

Concept: The objective of this assignment was to draw from sight, and than i added one image of the memory. Because i choose such a intricate object to draw i think the poor detail actually gives enough detail to make out a fourwheeler.

The two images above are done in the program in design. These are my spread pages for the magazine we are working on in class. There is a total of 4 pages that relate to the first major project we did in class. All illustrations were done in adobe illustrator, converted to jpeg files and loaded into indesign.

For the first spread pages i chose to use the same colors that i used in the illustrations to give them more depth. Although I like to add alot of colors to almost anything i do, i try to stick to one general theme because its easier on the viewers eyes and it makes sences with my illustrations. I choose the illustrations that i felt were the best to express the neighborhood of rodgers park.

The text I came up with, although i used some research information to complete the task i tried describe the neighborhood as best i could.

week 8

For this assignment I chose to make my image more gloomy and dark feeling. I added a gradient for the sky and a erie glow around the statue. When compared to the original image it adds this spooky vibe.

~Denver City was founded in November 1858 as a mining town during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush in western Kansas Territory.

~Denver was selected in 1970 to host the 1976 Winter Olympics to coincide with Colorado's centennial celebration, but in November 1972 Colorado voters struck down ballot initiatives allocating public funds to pay for the high costs of the games, subsequently the games were moved to Innsbruck, Austria.

Concept: This was my first run with adobe illustrator on its new platform. I went about using the pen which is the fundamental tool of the program. I show that i have the basic concept of the program and assignment to an understanding.

Composition: The whole image started off as lines at one point, with some curving to the lines and some coloring effects I created this image. On my name I chose to add a gradient pattern, as the the other fills were somewhat boring to me. The car was all free hand with the tools. I layered the body, wheels, and interior shots in seperate categories to organize the grpahic for later editting

Craft: This image was done only on adobe illustrator. Every part was done this way because it seemed the best, as i did play around with positioning layers. The whole task took literally minutes on the hours, if i was to freehand this it would have token quite longer.

 

*Craft- This picture has alot going on in it. The man crossing the street shows life in the city as appose to life in the suburbs, walking for groceries is not really something you see around my house. I stood at the corner and got alot of visual information such as the street sign and the business signs

*Composition- The business and restaurant signs show the cultural diversity in the Roger Park area. This specific area was mainly Indian/ Pakistani. It really made you feel as if you were in a different country within the city. This part of the city is quite old and I chose to show the architecture as it is obsolete nowadays.

*Concept-The everyday life in the city was really my concept here. The day light gives you the "everday" type feel. Although chicago is synonymous for its hectic weather conditions, the lighting and the color in this photo are very neutral and easy to look at, although there is not really that much going on, you can tell that this town never sleeps.
